8AM
The challenge
One car, one man and a rather nifty system - Nick Scott spends 12 hours in the Verso-S T Spirit with Touch & Go*. His mission? To put Toyota Touch & Go technology to the ultimate test, through towns, bad weather, multiple pit stops and one particularly personalized pizza.
8.20AM
Finding the car-wash
My first priority of the day is to give the car a good clean for the photoshoot. But as I'm not allowed out of the car, I need to find a drive-in car-wash, and fast. Tapping the words "car wash" into the system summons a list of 30 or so valeting services in the vicinity. Easy.

8.40AM
Filling up for less
No use in setting off without a full tank, so my next stop is a petrol station. In no time at all, Toyota Touch & Go* finds me a selection of conveniently placed refueling stops - and even gives me comparative prices so I can get the best deal.
9AM
Keeping in touch on the go
The Toyota Touch & Go is hooked up to my mobile, so it's super-easy to make calls safely. What's more, you can even read your text messages† on the central screen (when you're stationary, that is).
†Service requires compatible mobile phone.

10.40AM
Parking in town in a tight spot
Brighton is one of the toughest places to park on the planet. Not so with Toyota Touch & Go* at hand: it tells you not only where the larger car parks are, but which of them have free spaces. And once you're there, the rear-view parking camera makes it much easier to get into any space.
11AM
Arriving in Brighton
I recline in the seat, read a newspaper in the bright cabin, and gaze up at the clouds through the Verso-S's huge, fixed panoramic glass roof. Then, a few unwelcome raindrops fall. Toyota Touch & Go* can predict the weather at your destination, which I should've checked! A speedy investigation informs me that the bad weather is set to stay.

1PM
Pitstop Lunch
According to Toyota Touch & Go*, there are three McDonald's restaurants in the vicinity, and happily the one with a drive-window involves going along the coast towards the next town on the agenda. Bar one dicey incident where I can't quite reach the cashier with an outstretched fiver, my meal goes without a hitch.
4PM
Hastings and Battle
I find myself meandering around Hastings and Battle, the latter named after a medieval scrap that changed the entire dynastic history of Britain. On a whim, I ask my in-car concierge whether there are any "battlefields" in the vicinity. To its credit, it finds a company that specialises in war-related tours of the region.

5.45PM
Dinner: Pizza delivery
Toyota Touch & Go* presents me with a choice of 20 pizza restaurants in the surrounding area. I find myself in the surreal situation of sitting in a car in torrential rain opposite one of the town's pizza parlours, ordering a Hawaiian pizza from 10 yards away.

7PM
Planning a fast route home
Toyota Touch & Go* guides me from the winding country lanes that criss-cross rural Sussex to the A21 and then a traffic-free trajectory to the M25. Home time!
