Fact File
Acceleration
The all new Yaris aims to provide an exhilarating drive. It comes in four engine options: a 1.0 litre five-speed manual; a 1.33 litre six-speed manual and a 1.33 litre Multidrive S automatic with paddle shift for a sportier drive - both giving an impressive 99bhp; and a 1.4 litre D-4D six-speed manual. All benefit from Toyota Optimal Drive, which helps cut fuel consumption and emissions without harming power and torque levels.
Parking
The all new Yaris' class-leading turning circle of 4.7 metres makes for agile city driving. Plus, the rear-view parking camera** will never leave you guessing when you're squeezing into that tight spot you might have otherwise passed by.
Cornering
The car has a quicker steering ratio so you'll enjoy more nimble handling, making the cut-and-thrust of town driving easier and more fun. Secondly, a stiffer vehicle body helps you maintain a closer connection with the car and the road, boosting safety and handling. Steering responses are also sharper. Faster cornering and rapid lane changes are more controlled.
Fuel economy
The all new Yaris delivers a combination of increased performance and excellent fuel economy through combustion efficiency and a lighter-weight design.
The all new Yaris will offer high fuel efficiency and be very economical to run. The 1.33 litre petrol engine gives 52.3*mpg combined cycle, the Multidrive S and 1.0 litre petrol models offer 55.4*mpg combined cycle and 58.9mpg respectively. The diesel option provides a great 72.5mpg.
Safety
The all new Yaris is strong on safety. Five stars on the new, more stringent Euro NCAP safety rating system are anticipated.
It features seven SRS airbags, plus Whiplash Injury Lessening seats designed to reduce neck and shoulder injury in the event of a rear-end shunt.
